Hi, this is “Mrs. Colonial” along with my human, Sandy.
We recently had a heart-to-heartpine and decided we wanted to get back to what we truly are and what we’re passionate about doing. We’re a couple, one house and one human, embroiled in a love affair with each other and with everything homes & gardens. We love DIY projects and curating fashionable house and garden ensembles for both indoors and out in different price points and styles. Throw in "Mrs. Colonial's Kitchen" recipes, garden tours and installations, and continual projects to update me, your favorite old magical house lady. If you come on board, we'll also be sharing projects at my house cousins, the Lakehouse at Paradise Cove, and Gray Wolf Haven mountain home.
Beginning in 2016 with Sandy's purchase of me, we endured a non-pleasant full home renovation together, and then Sandy dallied in design with her interior design business for several years. Now, with an interest in leaving timelines and high stress behind and getting back to our roots, we’ve decided to once again send out our love for homes & gardens through blog posts & social media. If you were on board in the very beginning, you'll remember that's how I got my name. Some loyal followers of my renovation story called me their favorite old magical house lady and nicknamed me "Mrs. Colonial", and it stuck. Now, we’ll bring you along as we tackle new projects and creative endeavors among the peace and simplicity of country style living at the farm and beyond, all with a touch of elegance and charm. If your heart feels the tug, please join us in supporting ASIAB to help horses and donkeys get out of the pipeline to slaughter.
All Seated is a non-profit equine rescue, sanctuary, rehabilitation, training and intake facility whose large ambitions include rescuing horses and donkeys who would otherwise be shipped across the border to be slaughtered for human consumption. They provide them with medical attention and most importantly, find them the loving homes they deserve.
